The Firm Welcomes a New Law Clerk

Montroll & Backus, P.C., brought in a new law clerk, Michael Polletta, for a three-month clerkship in preparation for his admission to the Vermont Bar. Michael graduated from VT Law School in 2014 and most recently worked for the Rutland Regional Planning Commission.

UVM Student Completes Internship

Our summer intern, Daniel Morgan, completed his internship at Montroll & Backus, P.C., and has returned to UVM for his sophomore year.

Mark Oettinger

Mark Oettinger delivered a presentation on “Legal Liability in Ski Patrolling and Emergency Medical Care” to the opening class of the National Ski Patrol's Outdoor Emergency Care course.

Mark was chosen to serve on Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility’s Policy Development Committee regarding the relationship between and among education, business, workforce and economy.

Mark attended a board meeting of Vermont Council on World Affairs, joint meeting with the board of the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce.

Rob Backus

Rob helped a client reach a favorable resolution of a difficult multiple DUI case. The case included multiple, and potentially expensive, traffic tickets.
